Join us for First Fridays as we celebrate the art of Ken Nagakui, whose work will be on display up on the mezzanine for the month of April. This event is free and open to the public.
Ken Nagakui is a mostly self-taught painter and ceramist who has been making art for years. In some ways, it’s more difficult to teach yourself an art, but it’s also a more rewarding way to gain an honest reputation if you can find success without endorsements from established institutions. In Ken’s view, real endorsements come from real people. And, he has good number of people who praise his works. His interest is in making a focused effort to find an organic flow both in painting and ceramics. His media are mostly oil in painting and wood-fired stoneware (mixing local clay into commercial clay) in ceramics.
