Honorable Men is a collection of short stories written by Sydney Blair, who taught for many years in the creative writing program at the University of Virginia. Her stories were widely published, and the stories in this volume appeared in distinguished literary magazines such as The American Scholar, Callaloo, and The Texas Review. The stories convey with subtlety and empathy the complicated relationships between men and women, primarily, but also examine the tangled—and often fraught—ways in which families and friends try to connect.
