Join us for an evening with novelist Alli Dyer and musician Guion Pratt.

Join us for an evening with novelist Alli Dyer and musician Guion Pratt. Alli Dyer will be reading from her debut novel, Strange Folk, and Guion Pratt will be performing an acoustic set of his music. This in-person event will be cosponsored by WriterHouse and will be free and open to the public. We recommend arriving early for the best seating.

Alli Dyer grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia where her family has lived for generations. For the last decade, she has worked in entertainment and book publishing and now lives in Los Angeles. Strange Folk is her first novel.

Guion Pratt is a songwriter, poet, and translator. He is the recipient of an Anne Williams Burrus/Academy of American Poets Prize in Poetry and holds an MFA from the University of Virginia, where he was a Poe/Faulkner Fellow. In 2015, Guion released a collection of songs called Locust Avenue under the band name Nettles. He has since released a trilogy of instrumental ambient records and intends to one day soon release a perpetually almost-finished album of new songs, but keeps having children instead.

Strange Folk will be released on August 6. To order a copy of the book, please see below for the New Dominion Bookshop book order form or call the shop at 434-295-2552.
