Cara Black Event

Friday, March 20 from 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Cara Black, the third annual Carol Troxell Reader, will read from her work.

As the third annual Carol Troxell Reader, acclaimed mystery author Cara Black (Murder in Bel-Air) will give a solo reading from the nineteenth book in her Aimée LeDuc series, set in the arrondissements of Paris. Book sales and a signing will follow. This event will be free to attend and open to the public.

The Virginia Festival of the Book is pleased to honor Carol’s legacy by naming an annual Carol Troxell Reader, who will be featured in a solo reading at New Dominion Bookshop. To celebrate the breadth of Carol’s reading, the genre of the selected author will vary each year, building a wide-ranging list of Carol Troxell titles over time.

Why should you attend?

“Rich in Parisian settings and vernacular, Murder in Bel-Air is easily accessible and enjoyable to new and long-time readers alike.” —BookPage

“Aimée doesn’t need to pack heat on these adventures; the stiletto heels of her Louboutin ankle boots are weapon enough.” —Marilyn Stasio, The New York Times Book Review

“One of her best…Whether read as a crime story with roots in international politics or as the latest chapter in a fascinating family drama, this is a deeply satisfying and entertaining novel.” —Booklist, Starred Review
