Crow, come home is James Cole’s first published collection of poetry. It is a collection of hybrid themes and forms, blending elements of folktales and psychology with the humor and sentimentality of poetry. The story follows three old friends—Wolf, Snake, and Crow—who reconvene in their hometown after years apart. They swap stories of open mic performances in Hell, apartment-bound romances, and countless other bizarre encounters. When Crow goes missing, his friends struggle to make sense of his absence.

James Cole is a poet, author, and filmmaker based out of Charlottesville, VA. In addition to his creative works, he is also working on his PhD in neuroscience at the University of Virginia Medical School. His poems have appeared in numerous publications, including Jump!, Winged Nation, and The Virginia Bards Central Review. In 2016 he won The Gallery Poetry Prize and in 2017 he was a semifinalist for the Virginia Writers’ Club Golden Nib Award. He has taught poetry composition at the VWC Writer’s Symposium and, in 2019, founded the Charlottesville Poetry Critique Circle.
