The A to Z Guide for Primary Caregivers of Dementia Patients is a collection of helpful hints based on real-life experiences. Living with and caring for a dementia patient is not easy, but this book will make the “road less bumpy.” The guide puts special emphasis on caring for the caregiver: from hairdresser appointments to finding your own “down” time. Ultimately, it’s a guide to help the caregiver get the most joy out of their time with their loved one.

Jane S. Foy is a veteran broadcaster whose career began by way of the theater. After attending the Pittsburgh Playhouse School of the Theater (later Point Park College) she became a stage manager at Arena Stage in Washington, DC. After launching a career in broadcasting and radio in Pittsburgh, Jane and her husband, Patrick, moved to Charlottesville in 1997. From 1998 to 2018, she was the producer and co-host of the WINA Morning News in Charlottesville. Currently, Jane serves as the community outreach liaison for the Weldon Copper Center for Public Service project, BeHeardCVA. Jane has served on the Virginia Advisory Board for Career and Technical Education and served in an advisory capacity for numerous local nonprofit organizations. Her book, The A to Z Guide for Primary Caregivers of Dementia Patients, will be published in the spring of 2019. Caregivers can also reach her through her blog, atozdementiacare.com.
