This in-person event is a part of the 2022 Virginia Festival of the Book. Please note that this event will take place off-site at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center (233 4th St NW).
Drawing from personal experience and research, authors Taylor Harris (This Boy We Made), Anushay Hossain (The Pain Gap), and N. West Moss (Flesh and Blood) will share their individual stories and keen insights into the American healthcare system. Going beyond a retelling of their experiences, these authors explore the assumptions, expectations, and fears revealed by modern medicine.
As part of the 2022 Virginia Festival of the Book, this in-person event is free to attend and open to the public. In response to Covid-19, many venues have limited capacity. Early arrival is strongly encouraged. For more information about the specific Covid-19 guidelines for this venue, visit vabook.org.
