Mothership Greg Wrenn Festival of the Book

Saturday, March 22 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm

Greg Wrenn will speak about his new memoir.

This in-person event is a part of the 2025 Virginia Festival of the Book and will take place at the shop.

Mothership: A Memoir of Wonder and Crisis by Greg Wrenn is a story of healing from complex PTSD and the awakening of an ecological conscience. After surviving childhood abuse by his mother, Wrenn turned to endangered coral reefs and psychedelic plants like ayahuasca when traditional therapies failed. Part queer coming-of-age story, part scientific exploration, Mothership takes readers from the Florida coast of his youth to Indonesia’s biodiverse reefs, the lush Amazon rainforest, and the office of his Virginia therapist in a quest to save his life. In this memoir of self-discovery, a traumatized mind’s search for peace meets the planet’s cry for rescue.
