The first book in the Genetics Chronicles, The Titan Strain is a sci-fi journey into the dark world of a dystopian London. A bleak, stratified place rebuilding after the war that decimated America and crippled Europe, the city has become the playground of mods, humans illegally experimenting with genetic modification. It is also the home of Liane, an assassin trained from childhood by the shadowy government that rules the city. But when mods begin to turn up dead around the city, Liane defies her orders to working alongside a young police officer in the hunt for the killers. As they grow closer to solving the murders, they will also discover the truth of the whispered genetic advancement known as the Titan Strain.
Virginia Soenksen has always enjoyed creating new worlds and characters, and at some point started writing her ideas down. She devours books and movies at an alarming rate, especially those that focus on other worlds, speculations of the future of this world, or extraordinary people. An art historian and associate director of a museum, she also writes about Japanese textiles. While she has lived around the globe, she now resides in the Shenandoah Valley.
